Transience is a solo exhibition of work spanning 2017-2021. This collection investigates organic life forms and thier impact on our lives. Ocean microbes called radiolarians and diatoms are vital micro-plankton that are crucial for life on Earth. Diatoms produce 60% of the oxygen on our planet. These zooplankton play an important role in the food chain of marine life, as well as help indicate the health of the ocean.

A through line in my work is the ubiquity of pattern throughout organic life. I am interested in how specific patterns translate across scale, from micro to macro. The rhythmic qualities of pattern often feel like a thread of energy that runs through all living things.

Maybe if we look closely enough, we may find that we are not so different from the plants and animals with which we share our planet.
